The GRAMMY Awards 2011 - Jamie's Picks

The nominees for the 2011 Grammy Awards were recently announced during a live concert at the Club Nokia, located in Los Angeles. It seems that rapper Eminem has staked his claim in the music world this year, coming in with ten nominations, including the biggest award at the show, Album of the Year.
His album, “Recovery”, is going head to head against “The Suburbs by Arcade Fire, “Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum, “The Fame Monster” by Lady GaGa, and “Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry.
The second most nominations went to Bruno Mars, a relative newcomer on the music scene this year. One of his nominations Is for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, which pits him against Michael Buble, Michael Jackson, Adam Lambert, and John Mayer.
The Best New Artist nominees include teen sensation Justin Bieber, as well as Drake, Florence and the Machine, Mumford & Sons, and Esperanza Spalding. Bieber is also competing against Susan Boyle, Lady GaGa, John Mayer, and Katy Perry for the Best Pop Vocal Album.
